It has now been a whole year since I started my journey at enable.services. I began in August 2019, a few weeks after finishing sixth form and two days after leaving my part-time job at a bakery. I had originally planned to go to university to study Marketing, however, after a lot of thought, I decided to look for an apprenticeship in the Sales, Marketing, and the general Business sector as I love to work and wanted to get out there to gain experience. I had been looking for a while, through the typical channels and means of job-searching. However, a family member had told me about a friend’s granddaughter who worked in that industry and recommended that I reached out to her. From then, I messaged Jade on Instagram asking if she knew of any vacancies- little did I know at the time that we would end up being super close and Jade would be one of my best friends at enable.services

On my first day, I remember feeling extremely anxious- I often find reassurance in knowing the people around me, so immediately jumping into a new environment with so many new people to meet and so many new things to learn was very daunting. However, after a few weeks, I found my feet and began to feel more and more confident, being trained by Lee and Emma H.

In February, Emma left for maternity leave, handing her responsibilities over to me. Although this was worrying, as I wanted to make sure I could continue Emma’s standard of work, I felt content that I had an unlimited source of support around me- in particular, Fiona, who has been amazing in helping me in areas of which I am not so familiar- and now, I feel so much more confident in my role than I could’ve ever imagined. Although there have been stressful and overwhelming times, where I have been worried that my anxiety had gotten the better of me, I have always felt that I can get support whenever needed from my colleagues in all departments.

Not only have I been given the chance to undertake an apprenticeship course, but I have also been given the opportunity to move into our Marketing department, something I am extremely excited and passionate about. I am truly grateful that enable.services provide their staff with the chance to grow and develop as a person- as someone who loves learning, this is really important to me and I cannot wait to get started.

I have definitely grown as a person throughout my first year at enable and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me throughout this year. I am excited to see how I progress further at enable.services.
