Personal Stories: Stephen's first 6 weeks at Enable

Back on February 3rd 2020, I started a new position with Enable Technologies as the Marketing Solutions Manager, primarily working with software which automates a wide range of processes for a variety of businesses, I’m not writing this to try and sell you anything, so don’t worry, just wanted to share this experience.

With Covid-19 gradually circulating in my direction, unbeknown to me at the time, I settled in, as you would expect, got to grips with the software and was up and running in no time at all. It didn’t really occur to me about all of the work gone into this seamless start, as a large part of the work was conducted before I had even arrived. Fast forward 4 weeks and I am being asked to work remotely, as I have a vulnerable person in my home and Covid-19 is closing in. I am well experienced with working remotely and am fortunate to have a setup at home which I am using right now as I write this, however this wasn’t like anything I had experienced before. Jimmie, Technical Director at Enable Technologies, suddenly had the entire sales and marketing team requiring remote working capabilities, as calmly and professionally as you can imagine, Jimmie and his team set me up with remote access from my laptop, arranged a professional headset with a microphone for those all-important demo’s and video calls and set my mobile phone up to work just like my work phone had done, including access to all internal contacts, access to the call manager on my laptop and also linking all of my calls to our CRM system, completely streamlining my processes, enabling me to be as productive from home as I am in the workplace, all of my software is up to date and my remote access is working like a dream.

Enable have continued to operate as a team though our own chat channels and daily video meetings with the entire company, which not only removes that sense of isolation, but also, especially for a new member of the team like myself, encourages team building and for the relationships to develop as if I was in the office. Thanks to all of the support Jimmie and the team provided, for not only myself, but also for all of our employees and for another 150 clients in a very short space of time, I have been able to continue my learning journey and today passed my SugarCRM exam to become a Sugar Certified Sales Specialist. With support like this, it is difficult to do anything other than succeed.
