We understand that, in years gone by, the Tech industry has been a very male-dominated space, with women struggling to be considered for certain positions and, unfortunately, not experiencing equal opportunities.
Currently, the number of women working in technology is significantly lower than most other UK work sectors; just 17% of those working in Technology in the UK are female.
Here, at Enable, we are proud to be part of the change that we wish to see in the world; Out of the 34 employees at our Ipswich office, 14 are Women, that’s over 40%!
‘A balanced world is a better world’ is the tagline for International Women’s Day 2019. It’s a mantra that resonates particularly strongly with the tech industry, with events such as the annual Women in IT Awards gathering traction every year showcasing the achievements of women in the sector and identifying new roles.
We believe that allowing our team members the flexibility of remote working, flexible hours, and equal maternity/paternity options, as well as the option to earn extra holiday, gives them the opportunities needed to thrive in their roles. Computer science, coding, and the digital age makes tech a growing field, and one in which there is a need for more top talent.
