At enable.services we have a lot of experience running successful webinars and I want to share with you some top tips and tricks that you can use to increase your sign-ups. And when I say sign-ups, I mean genuine sign-ups, people who will actually turn up on the day!
Marketing a webinar takes more than a social media post. You need to have a marketing strategy in place so that you can get your sign-up link in front of the right people, at the right time. The best way to do this is using a Marketing Automation tool.
Tip #1 Create a striking and high-value landing page
All of the information on your landing page needs to be relevant to your webinar. To ensure that your content is high-value, think about your target audience and what they will get out of the webinar. Focus on pain points that they may have and how you can help them rather than just listing what the webinar's topics are going to be. To make the landing page striking it needs to include pictures or videos, don't overload the page with text. And finally, make sure the call to action is clear, this needs to be the focus point of your landing page.
Tip #2 Create a targeted email about your webinar
Make use of your valuable business data. Select your target audience for the webinar and create an email which will take them down a journey, leading them to sign-up. Similarly to your landing page, your email needs to offer value but don't just copy what you've written on your landing page because if you're going to drive traffic to that page then you don't want people to have to read the same information twice.
Tip #3 Offer something free for attending the webinar
Everyone loves a freebie! And in a time period where webinars are so competitive, people are more likely to sign-up to your webinar if they're going to get something out of it. Your freebie doesn’t have to be anything ridiculously expensive, it could be a free whitepaper or free 30 minute consultancy call. Make sure that it’s something that your target audience desires.
Tip #4 Schedule your webinar across social media
Social media is a great tool to get your webinar in front of lots of people. Make the most of every channel that you use. Tip #5 Analyse your data
The great thing about having a marketing automation tool is that you can see who’s read your email and what links they’ve clicked on. This makes testing a lot of fun and really insightful. For example, if you’ve sent out an email and lots of people are clicking on the link to sign-up but then they don’t actually fill out the form then you know that it’s your landing page that is the issue. These types of analytics enable you to make more informed decisions about what changes you will make on your next landing page or email.
